Btw, is there some way to "fix" the broken stopwatch, since with this update it was "upgraded" from x2 nostalgia to x0 (and upgrades don't increase this).  (Rockin' the useless stats, here)

In my understanding the nostalgia is calculated by (base_nostalgia-heirloom_drop_this_run) x multi, the change from x2 to x0  is nerfed for short runs heirloom farming but better for long runs farming.

Edited: Actually nostalgia is lower than not equipping stopwatch, and negative nostalgia isn't working at all.

If think this broken stopwatch is to use when you want to wait for higher zone farming heirlooms. I'll have to try this but if I understand well, having 0x Nostalgia makes it impossible to help you drop heirloom so you can keep those for later (zone 50 and higher)

Problem here is that you get Stopwatch only from zone 40+

At some point you'll drop it in 30min-1h, so you'll still have plenty of nostalgia. I think it's really needed when trying to farm heirlooms post zone 50-60

welp th event ends today and im not going ot be able to get a single reward do to the garbage RNG

They're pretty mild - I unlocked two cards, could have gotten a 10% increase in the amount of grain my farm put out.  I wouldn't sweat it.

Yeah small rewards for the time spent on event, but will get better with some time and good use of topaz I think. Even with some bad luck, I still think it was a fun event, I just want to see now how topaz affect this one

I will start by saying that this game is addictive and compelling.  It also has my favorite QoL feature, that's missing from a lot of other incremental games: hovering over a number (a rate, or a capacity) actually lists in detail what numbers are contributing to it.  Awesome.

Now, er, that said: are you sure your random number generator is working?  I feel like 50% chances when forging fail way more often than not.  In fact, I currently have a 40% chance of improving my pick, and while I don't expect that to succeed, I also don't expect it to fail on seven consecutive clicks (which is something less than a 3% chance).  Possible, but aligns with my sense that the numbers are just coming out weird.

There's literally  updates menu out there. Press i in the right top corner and then patch notes. If you don't see explanation, it means you haven't progressed to that part of the game

wow...this new Horde mode is making this challenge unbelievably long. I was at 2b out of 5b damage done in zone 1 before the sudden alteration of the Horde and now two days later, I've barely gained 100m damage. Previously it took me about a day, to a day and a half to get 1b damage, now it's been over 48 hours with a meager 100m...rough....

Quite like the new Horde, though I hope theres a way to reduce the respawn/increase the spawn cap in upgrades, I do think it works quite well to delay without it feeling bad (I see that decimate can be more useful now)

Have some thoughts on the event, there's definitely something there. Wether its making the potions specific recipes (so that you can optimize the spawn rate to be fairer, though that will mean potential recipe spoiling), or some kind of ingredient trading system, maybe 2 for 1, or some benefit to stacking ingredients such as increased magic spawn or increased essence spawn. Something to help out those who get bad RNG.

Why using prestige card resets boosts in Mining and Village? Is it a bug or is it a design choice?

Loving this game overall, I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. Favorite itch.io game by far, possibly my favorite idle/incremental. 5/5 any day, but I do have some small things I'd love to see added / changed: (Note that this is just going to mainly be opinion stuff, no need to agree)

-Mining: Pretty cool overall, to me feels like a solid baseline game which is always moving forward, if slowly. I like it, the crafting system is cool, and the prestige timewall's an actual reasonable one. Basically, it's cool because you can switch to other tabs while waiting. No changes needed here, but some additional abilities on the rock or something could be cool (I guess that's just hordes then, though...)

-Village: From what I've seen, the game which is the deepest and has the most strategy. Still working out what the best time is for Prestiging (quick 8 or less hours runs seem the best so far, but I'll continue testing and see). Good variation of upgrade choices, no blatant timewalls other than the generation of resources. 

The only thing is the weirdly high tax rates vs. weirdly low food generation rates. I'm at ~7000 blessing gained, and haven't needed church tax at all. Changing this to a minor buff to food or something would be great, but I also understand that I'm still early-mid game or so, so I shouldn't expect everything to click yet. If this is the case, then making church tax unlock later in some way could have the same effect. 

I think this is the most well-crafted out of the various games, and could almost stand alone. It's currently my favorite, I believe, out of the main features, but Hordes used to be my favorite by far before, um, you know...

-Hordes: Yeah, so honestly thank you so much for responding to what people asked you to do. They wanted you to remove the corrupt soul timewall of 8 hours and you did. 

But this upheaval of everything is making me literally relearn the whole section, every upgrade, equipment, and achievement relic gain is different, and the main problem (in my eyes) is the combination of soul capacity and timers for enemies. I think that the system for gaining monster parts was improved, but the fact that the whole entire game was either ramped up/changed drastically should probably be some red flags in development. 

Even if a lot of people weren't saying it, they liked the old system (mostly liked it, and at the very least more than this one), and seeing it change so much hurt a bit. If you look at the comments below, and at other places, people also seem to have prefered the old version. Big changes in drastic sweeps like this have scared me away from games before, but this game is just so good I have to stick around and see if everything sorts itself out.

This is the main reason I'm writing this. I've done farm as well, and enjoy it, but I want my main focus to be on how changes work in the future. Because changes will happen, it's just important that they're moving in the right direction. So my big thought:

-Voting! Yeah, after you get far enough, vote/comment on the coming update, which is leaked beforehand so people can share their thoughts on the different additions and changes. And if people think something isn't a good idea, maybe a tweak or something to help shape Gooboo into a game somehow better than this masterpiece I see before me

-Gems: Gems were handled amazingly, good eye-opener on the scope of the game when I unlocked them, and they force some long-term strategy. Green gems and their uses are my personal favorite, but they all have their perks. For the themes, having the ability to buy cosmetics for a cosmetic-only currency really made my day, and is very rarely seen in a free game.


-Which I do want to emphasize this is a free game. I truly appreciate this, and know that this would have been done mostly as a side project/hobby, and is now the game which is bringing joy into my day. And that update will be a bit slow, and that we can't expect perfect, and definitely not expect it the first patch. The game will grow and improve as the months go by.


-Event: I expected the rewards to do more, mainly, but honestly fun. A ramping/pity RNG system would be nice, and if you could have something I could do with my spare resources which are now literally useless until I unlock the third potion slot (Even like a super small amount of essence or something).

-So yeah, overall LOVE this game, and hope it goes in the right direction, and grows big enough to create a huge stir in the idle/incremental. Please continue developing, excitedly awaiting the next addition to my current time waster! :)

In the 1.3.2 version, I still lost a relic which exchange from event shop. It cost me 70 coins.

The recent update made my lucky dice relic disappear. Any way to get it back?

It seems like in my game, the lucky dice relic got moved to a higher achievement requirement (Shepherd of Souls 5; gain 4.096M corrupted souls). Maybe check whether you have that achievement yet?

Also, I lost my Bandage relic, but not sure if that's in a higher achievement that I can't see yet.

After the horde upgrade, I lost general relics. The "highest zone" in souls upgrades also got reset. I'm stuck in a run where I had a low zone, and I have a pile of souls I can only spend on the first handful of upgrades.

Love this game, but I was almost done with the generals second combat training and after the last update that added longer spawn time for enemies, the last bit is so so slow

Yeah, my biggest issue with horde was the delay going from enemy to enemy (with no way to reduce it like most games that have this feature), which has now been increased by 5x, making it worse.  :(    (And healing with actives is so much worse, now, because it takes forever to activate them.)

Use "Taunt mode" to make enemies spawn without delay. This will allow you to quickly heal if needed.

Unfortunately, that only works for a few mobs.  Once you've defeated a boss, it doesn't do anything, and if you go too high, then you're stuck waiting for your own respawn timer, which is far longer.  (And you get no loot during taunt)

It's also frustrating how far back it feels like this update has pushed us.  I was ALMOST to being able to equip 9 items at once, and now I'm stuck at 4 with no possible upgrades to raise it any.  Right now, I feel like I can't equip anything worth using because the negatives on items are too strong and there's not enough slots to balance them anymore.  Whether it's from the loss of relics or the loss of heirlooms (since I lost both).  Whatever it is has made this section much more frustrating to play, and it was the part I actually enjoyed.

That's not true, you get bones at usual rate, only thing you are missing are monster parts. Plus if you reach boss during taunt - you will start getting monster part in-between "normal mobs".


You need to adjust to the new Horde mode, but it actually way better than old. Souls and trinket farm are nicer,  you can get monster parts while level rushing, equipment is more meaningful (lets be honest here - having to wear 9 items is kill whole idea of limited slots)

I do agree, it makes the whole thing way more strategical to be able to climb the last few zones before the prestige reset, trying each time to grab the farthest possible droppable equipment. You can now switch loadouts to change strategy between farming, climbing and boss fight, something that I was almost never doing before because I could just equip everything I wanted

You must be looking at it only on a high level when you can't kill mobs fast enough.  You only get bones for the normally spawned ones.  The ones that spawn from taunt give nothing, and it clearly says this in the description for taunt.

I lost some relics when import my saveing into the new version.

I am amazed at how this board has so many people complaining. 

In this day and age of walkthroughs and videos explaining exactly how to do everything without any trial and error yourself, it is great to find a game that has so much to figure out for myself. Yeah, the events are annoying now, but I will figure them out in time.

Like it says in the description, this game is intended to be played for years and not just be a quick fix. 

I haven't even dared to do a prestige yet as there are constantly new areas opening up.

Absolutely everything is explained in the notes. Anything that isn't explained there, you don't need to know yet. I am in awe of the amount of detail and attention that has gone into the explaining and detailing of every aspect of this game. For anyone who is asking questions in this chat, I would suggest that they reread their notes, carefully this time. They were put there for a reason.

Thank you SO much to Tendsty for this game. It is absolutely awesome and by far the best thing I have ever found on itch. It deserves more than 5 stars.

I meant to ask, the other day.  Does anyone know how to get Topaz?  I see that I can raise the capacity, but it doesn't do anything apparent, so I quickly reloaded before that saved.

Topaz is an Event (Like the Night Hunt you see mentioned) specific gem. It's unlocked at the same time you unlock events.

Gathered the same as normal gems once unlocked, UNLESS there is a 'Large' Event (Like Night Hunt) active.

Really love all the possibilities for super long-term growth in this game, and how much thought went into it.

Even though some mechanics are pretty unblanced at the moment (chiefly Night Hunt and School), and obviously lots of patching and content to come, it's quite refreshing to see the foresight the dev has had to have so many layers of content! 

Village especially is showing to have months of play in front of me now.  Hoping all features will be the same and continue to intertwine.  Kudos!

Might I suggest somewhere we can see buildings that have already been built in village?  Also a tooltip mouseover for the building icon when we minimize it to see what it is?

Mostly this is because we open up new blessings and/or red gem or school bonuses to add max cap on buildings but if its a building we've already capped out we no longer see them anymore to confirm if its something we wanna buy.

This is true for horde and mining skills as well.  Just someway to see minimally what that skill or building did or how many we've completed perhaps if it won't add clutter?

Also, sometimes you complete a quest from general tab that you didn't even know you had, and all you get is the note referring to the next quest, but no way to see the completed quest at all (being able to hover over the check mark with a synopsis of the quest would be nice!)

Wait for the night. In some time zone :) At night, they will slowly begin to accumulate themselves.

Certainly would be useful to know in a tooltip, somewhere, what this time frame is.  Pretty big variety of time zones ppl play from and planning an event around only a certain time with already huge RNG seems kinda...

Ha! Look, for example, in the "crystals" tab. 1 crystal per hour. Well, 2, if you've been playing the game for a very, very long time. At the same time, upgrades cost 100-300 crystals of the theme 1000-50000. 50k! This is about three years with an income of 2 crystals per hour :) The author clearly hints that this is a LONG game :) And are you surprised now that the income of the resource is irregular during the day? Seriously?! :) Yes, you can look in there once a week, more often there is no point. And in such conditions, the daily frequency does not play any role.

And this is if my observations about periodicity are generally correct. But I can be wrong or understand something wrong :)

Well you're correct about regular features of the game.  The night hunt event we're talking about though is a limited time 2 week event.  Having resources generate only during the night time, which varies a bunch based on time zone, is much more important than features that are designed for months and years.

A. You're right, it was worth looking at the calendar further :) But, in any case, this event will happen again in a year! There is very little left :)

That person is incorrect, the resources generate at all times of day. Whether or not it is night time means nothing.

It slowly convert any other resources into "special one". If you mouse over converted resource - you will collect it.

So just mouse over all your resource icons every 5-10 minutes. Scrap\Aluminium\Copper in Mine, Gold\Stones\Fiber\Wood in Village, Bones\Parts\Souls in Horde, etc.

so is there any way to actually find these converted resources 

The icon will be replaced with one of the event resources' icon.

No, they won't go away. So you could leave game running and then collect a lot of them in short time because having a lot of Magic would convert other resources faster.

It is an idle game. You idly gain resources, but you can't expect the entire game to be idle. There are always aspects of an idle game that you need to yourself. You can't expect an idle game to be 100% idle in every aspect. If it were, there would be no need to actually play it.

Opening the page, starting the game and becoming the most prolific player ever just by playing once every 24 hours for 5 minutes would make little sense.

corruption increases the strength of the enemies, reducing corruption weakens them back towards the baseline of enemies of that particular zone

Yes, because it could go past 100%
